Safari Toy Bag Pattern

The Safari Toy Bag features 5 little Safari characters. There's an elephant, a zebra, a giraffe, a hippo, and a lion! All of the characters get to be carried around in a safari-style backpack!
This set is extremely popular with little ones because they can use their safari backpack for anything and everything, and it keeps their safari characters all in one place. There is a real functional pocket on the front of the backpack and real usable straps on the back. You can customize this into a crossbody bag for an "older" little if it works better for you.


Here are the characters:

Elephant

Giraffe

Hippo

Lion

Zebra
Here's what you'll need for the bag:

Material:
6oz-main color- worsted weight (used I Love This Yarn by Hobby Lobby *)
1oz-contrast color- worsted weight
G hook, 2 buttons (3/4”-1”, preferably shank)
Large eye needle
Gauge 16st x 8 rows of dc= 4” x 4”

Here's what you'll need for the characters:

Materials:

#3 Light, DK, or Sport weight yarn (Used Baby Bee Sweet Delight *)
(1 oz per main color, smaller amounts for accent colors)
Giraffe: Yellow/Brown, Lion: Tan/Brown/Yellow, Zebra: Black/White, Elephant: Gray/White, Hippo: Gray
Each animal will use Black for eyes. Hippo will use a tiny bit of white for the eyes as well.
