Hey everyone, it's Biz!
I wanted to let you know that I have temporarily postponed the Summer Cover Make Along due to the fact that we are all stuck at home, many with limited funds, and yarn supplies are in a bit of a shortage. (I just went online shopping today, and YIKES!) I do not want to be the person that adds undue stress to anyone telling you to go buy something you may not be able to afford (or find) at this current time.
Instead, I have come up with a new plan for us to get together and safely hang out without really spending any money. I am hosting a Social Distance Scrap-a-Long on the Bizzy Crochet Facebook page for the duration of our recommended quarantine. I am going LIVE Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm CST and Saturday mornings at 9:30 am CST. It's really just a time to get together and chit-chat about crochet and hairdo's and coffee and anything else that comes up. We are working on changing over to something like Zoom- so if you plan to join in, make sure you watch the Bizzy Crochet page on Facebook for the latest updates on where you can find our Scrap-a-Long coffee chats.
We are not working a particular pattern, although I am recommending squares of your choice just because they work up quickly and squares are great for using up stash. My two favorite squares are the closed Granny Square from my pattern "Do It Your Way Afghan" (4.5" squares), and the Pizzazz 12" square by Melinda Miller (it's only available on Ravelry). I am turning my 4.5" squares into a poncho using both traditional granny squares in a neutral color and closed granny squares in multiple colors. I've told everyone to find their favorite square pattern and let's see what we can come up with! BUT- you can do or make anything you want- it doesn't have to be squares. I just want everyone to use up their stash. :)
I pray blessings on everyone wherever you are! That you are healthy, wealthy and wise, and no evil thing will touch you or your home! Hope to see you at the Scrap-a-Long!
