Rose Dress- 18" Doll Pattern

Back



**Choice of two bodice styles**

Materials:
5oz Bernat Softee Baby Yarn (Skirt)
2-3oz Caron Simply Soft (Bodice)
**I prefer Bernat Softee Baby for the skirt. Simply Soft can be stiff for this particular design.
F Hook
1- 5/8"-3/4" button (for tank top bodice)
1- 1/2" button (for halter top bodice)
Yarn needle
Gauge:
18 sc/20 rows = 4"x4" square.


Halter Top Bodice:
Row 1- ch 50, join to make a ring(careful not to twist), ch1, sc insm st as join & each ch around, sl st to 1st sc. (50sc)
Row 2-10- ch1, do not turn, sc in sm st as join and each sc around, join with sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off.
Row 11- sk first 19 from back seam, reattach in next sc with sl st, ch1, sc in sm st, sc in next 18 sc, leave rem sc unworked. (19sc)
Row 12- ch1, turn, sc in each sc (19)
Row 13- ch1, turn, sc dec, sc in next 15sc, sc dec in last 2sc (17)
Row 14-19- repeat pattern for row 13 decreasing one sc on each end. You will have 5sc at the end of row 19. (5) do not fasten off.
Row 20- do not turn, ch30, sc in 5th ch from hk(creates button hole) and each ch, sc in 5 sc across top of halter, fasten off.
Halter Trim:
Attach with accent color to any sc in the back. ch1, sc in sm sp, sc in each sc on back and ea row end up to the neck. At neck put 2sc in corner, sc in ea sc to opposite corner of front, put 2sc in that corner, skipping the tie, sc down the opposite side of row ends. sc in each rem sc on back & sl st to 1st sc. Finish off.

**Attach button to inside of collar as picture shows.


Tank Top Bodice:
Row 1-5- Repeat rows 1-5 of Halter Bodice.
Row 6-10- ch1, turn, sc in ea sc, do not join.(50)
Left Back:
Row 11(RS)- ch1, turn, sc in 10sc, leave rem unworked. (10)
Row 12-14- ch1, turn, sc in ea sc across. (10) ending on a WS row.
Row 15- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 3sc, ch1, sc dec in next 2sc, sc in rem 5 (6sc)
Row 16- ch1, turn, sc in 6sc.
Row 17- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 1st sc, sc in next 5sc. (5)
Row 18- ch1, turn, sc in 3sc, sc dec (4)
Row 19- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 1st sc, sc in 3sc (3)
Row 20- ch1, turn, sc in 1st sc, sc dec (2)
Row 21-22- ch1, turn, sc in each. Finish off.
Front:
Skip 5 sc on row 10, attach in next sc w/sl st.
Row 11- ch1, sc in sm st at join, sc in next 19sc, leave rem 15 sc unworked. (20)
Row 12-14- ch1, sc in ea sc across. (20)
**left front-
Row 15- ch1, sc in 5sc, sc dec, leave rem 13 sc unworked. (6)
Row 16- ch1, turn, sc in ea sc. (6)
Row 17- ch1, turn, sc in 4, sc dec. (5)
Row 18- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 1st sc, sc in 4 (4)
Row 19- ch1, turn, sc in 2, sc dec (3)
Row 20- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 1st sc, sc in 2sc, (2)
Row 21-22- ch1, turn, sc in ea sc (2) Finish off.


**Right Front-
Row 15- sk 6 sc on row 14, join with sl st to next sc, sc dec in sm st as join and next sc, sc in rem 5sc (6)
Row 16- ch1, turn, sc in ea sc (6)
Row 17- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 1st, sc in ea (5)
Row 18- ch1, turn, sc in 3, sc dec (4)
Row 19- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 1st sc, sc in ea (3)
Row 20- ch1, turn, sc in 1, sc dec (2)
Row 21-22- ch1, turn, sc in ea sc (2) Finish off.
Right Back:
Sk 5 sc on row 10, attach w/sl st to next sc.
Row 11(RS): ch1, sc in sm st as join and the next 9sc (10)
Row 12-14- ch1, sc in ea sc (10)
Row 15- ch1, turn, sc in 5, sc dec (6)
Row 16- ch1, turn, sc in ea sc across (6)
Row 17- ch1, turn, sc in 4, sc dec (5)
Row 18- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 1st sc, sc in 4 (4)
Row 19- ch1, turn, sc in 2, sc dec (3)
Row 20- do not ch1, turn, sl st in 1st sc, sc in 1(2)
Row 21-22- ch1, turn, sc in ea (2) FInish off.
**With right sides together and matching sc's, sew shoulder seams.


Tank Trim:
*With accent color, starting in back opening, join in available sp on row 10. Sc up row ends, 3sc in corner, sc in 2sc, sc dec inside corner, continue sc on row ends to front inside corner, sc dec, sc in ea sc across front to opposite inside corner, sc dec, sc along row ends to next inside corner, sc dec, sc in 2sc, 3sc in outside corner, sc in rem row end. sl st to joining ch. Finish off.
*Sleeve Trim: with accent- starting @ any sc on row 10- sc in ea sc and row end around, make sure to sc dec on inside corners. Finish off.
*Attach accent color to post of sc on top of left back with sl st. ch6-7 chs, sl st in sm sp for button loop. Sew button on opposite corner of button loop.

**Special Stitches:
Mini Petal:(sc, hdc, dc, trc, dc, hdc, sc) in same space
Large Petal:(sc, hdc, dc, trc, 2 dtr, trc, dc, hdc, sc) in same space


Skirt:
Row 1- @ center back, join skirt color with sl st to rem ch from ch50. ch1, sc in sm ch, sc in ea ch around, join with sl st to first sc. (50)
Row 2- ch2, hdc in sm sp as join, (hdc in 2sc, 2hdc in next sc, hdc in 1sc, 2hdc in next sc) around. Join with sl st to first hdc (70hdc)
Row 3- ch1, sc in sm sp, (hdc, dc, trc, dtrc, trc, dc, hdc, sc) in next 8hdc, (sc, hdc, dc, trc, dtr, trc, dc, hdc, sc in next 9 hdc) 6 times, sc, hdc, dc in 3hdc, (trc, dtr) in next st, (trc, dc) in next st, hdc, sc in last two hdc (72 st, 8 petals made)
Row 4- Working BEHIND previous row as shown in picture below. ch3, (bpsc
around hdc one row below dtr
from previous row, ch6) repeat 7 times, ch5, sl st in 1st ch of ch3. (8-ch6 sp)
Row 5- Working in ch sp BEHIND petals from row 3, sl st in ch3, (ch3, cts as dc, hdc, sc) in ch3 sp,[sk bpsc, (make large petal in ch 6)] around to ch5, (sc, hdc, dc, trc, 2dtr, trc) in ch5, sl st to top of ch3. Last petal made. (8 petals)
Row 6- Working BEHIND previous row, ch2, (bpsc around sc from 2 rows below, ch 4, sc around ch 6 sp between 2dtr from previous row as show in picture, ch4) 7 times, sl st to 1st bpsc. (16- ch4 sp)
Row 7- sl st in 1st ch4 sp, ch1,
mini petal in ch 4 sp, (sk sc, mini
petal in each ch 4 sp) around. sl st to 1st sc. (16 mini petals)
skirt Row 8- ch2, bpsc around sc 2 rows below, (ch6, sk one bpsc, bpsc around next sc two rows below)7 more times, sl st to first bpsc (8-ch6 sp)
Row 9- sl st in 1st ch6 sp, ch1, (make large petal in ch6 sp, sk sc) 7 times, make large petal in last ch6 sp, sl st to 1st sc (8 lg petals)
Row 10-33- Repeat rows 6-9 six times. (ending on large petal row) Finish off, Weave ends.




Hat:
Row 1- ch55, join w/o twisting in 1st ch. Sc in sm st as join and each ch around. (55)
Row 2-3- ch1, sc in sm sp as join and ea sc around. (55)
Row 4- Attach skirt color, ch1, FLO sc in sm sp, (hdc, dc, trc, dc, hdc, sc, sc) in next 7 sc, repeat to last 5sc, hdc in next, (dc, trc) in next, dc in next, hdc in next, sc in last. Join with sl st.
Row 5- ch1, sc in join, (hdc in hdc, dc in dc, 3 trc in trc, dc in dc, hdc in hdc, sc in next 2sc) around to last petal. Repeat pattern in last petal with 1sc in last sc.
Row 6- On top of hat, join petal color w/ rem loops from beg ch. Sl st in ea loop. Fasten off, tuck ends.
Purse:
Row 1- ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Row 2- 2sc in each sc around. (12)
Row 3-- 1sc in sc, 2sc in next sc around (18)*Row 4-9- Sc in ea sc around.
Row 10- ch3, (sk next sc, dc in next sc, ch1) around, sl st to ch2 of first ch3.
Row 11- ch1, sc in sm sp as join, sc in ea ch1 sp and dc around.
Row 12- (ch3, sk 1 sc, sl st in next sc) around, sl st in 1st ch of 1st ch 3. Finish off.
Tie: ch 35. Tie off. Weave in purse.
