Ugly Christmas Sweater Sampler Pattern

Ugly Christmas Sweater Sampler Blanket

by Elizabeth Mareno

This pattern is available for purchase on RavelryETSY and my website

Welcome to the Not-So "Ugly Christmas Sweater" Sampler Blanket!! This was the 2018 Christmas CAL in the Bizzy Crochet CAL Group on Facebook. And did we have a blast!! We had participants from all over the world and the pattern has amassed over 5,000 individual downloads to this point.

People are loving how fun and original they can be with all of the different stitches involved in this sampler. This blanket, also, has no open spaces in the stitches until the very outside rows, making it a very warm and snuggly blanket. The pattern also comes with both US and UK instructions, and video instructions throughout.

This pattern is available for purchase on RavelryETSY and my website

Whether you are a seasoned crocheter, or you are just starting out and want to challenge yourself, this blanket makes space for everyone. Included you will find: Front post double crochet, Popcorns, Cross-stitch on crochet, Tapestry crochet, and all of the usual suspects. You will work in the round and then move on to creating a square. There are extra stitch opportunities included in the pattern that were created during the testing process. Like Christmas trees instead of Christmas packages.

Plus, people got VERY creative with their individuality and changed up the pattern completely! One of the fanciest and most creative blankets was made by Elizabeth Smith VanHorn. She created a Grinch-inspired blanket and cross-stitched "Christmas Day will always be, just as long as we have we" in the cross-stitch section of the blanket. Many other people did appliques and really played with colors and changed up stitches...it was so much fun! There is nothing better than watching people get creative!

Retro 50's colorway
