14 Patterns for the Fourth of July

We love the Fourth of July in our house. When the kids were little we lived in a small town in Northern Wisconsin and the Fourth of July was a major event. There was the craft fair in the park, the parade that took hours, then everyone would go home and get changed for the fireworks and head back downtown. There was always some youth group or another selling glow necklaces, and popcorn and soda/water vendors walking up and down the main street. Our church was right across the street from where the fireworks were set off (right in front of the propane gas station) and everyone would gather on the lawn like a big family.  Then, we would go back to our house and light up the fire pit, and a bunch of friends and family would come over and roast marshmallows and finish off the day. Those are some of the best memories.

We moved away from our small town 11 years ago, and I miss the event that the Fourth used to be for us. So, I decided to find some fun and interesting patterns to bring some of that zing back into the holiday. I have patterns for your home, for your table, and for your body! I hope you find something festive to create for your own Independence Day celebrations!!

14 Patterns for the Fourth of July

Decorate Your Home!

1. Maybe you want to start off with something simple and traditional to decorate your front door. This project is great because it's made in one piece and sewn onto a wreath form. Minimal work for a great reward!

2. Or maybe you are looking for a bit of a challenge? This beautiful boho rendition of the American flag should fit the bill. It's not that the patterns are hard, there is just more assembly required with this one. I find its "simplicity" quite beautiful and appealing.

3. I really like this bold pillow for outside decorating. A nice, simple statement. :)

4. I have a thing for banners. I just think they are the cutest. This one in particular has so many applications. Craft fair tables, voter registration booths, back porch decorations...so cute!
(And you could totally change out the colors and make a bunch of seasonal ones.)

Decorate Your Table!

5. So, I wanted to find something other than just your basic tabletop runner to decorate the table. And, recently, I've become enamored with zig zag patterns. This one looks like fun!

6. Or this one! Simplicity at its best. Individual motifs (so that means the project is portable!) are stitched together on one tip. Guaranteed to brighten any table up.

7. A great way to add a little flair to your celebration tables. These would even be great to hold drinks or taller chip dip containers.

8. A smart way to protect your tables from sweaty drinks. No more water stains on the wood!

9. If you've been around for more than a minute, you also know I'm obsessed with jar covers. They are such a simple way to turn something so plain into something cute and themed. These are a great idea for your holiday silverware.

10. More help for your table tops, plus these will help keep your drinks colder longer, as well as catch all the "sweat".

Decorate You!

11. This adorable crop top was too fun to not include in this week's lineup. I'm sure you can make it longer if you want to. But, with the heat the way it has been- you're going to need something cool to wear!

12. This top is also very cute. I remember wearing stuff like this in the 70's when I was a little girl.

13. You can finish off your celebration outfit with a cute bandana to hold your hair back.

14. Last, but not least, finish off your busy celebration day by pampering your feet with a new pair of patriotic slippers.
