Wonderland Sampler Pattern

Wonderland Sampler Pattern

by Elizabeth Mareno

This pattern can be purchased on ETSY or my website.

Inspired by the color scheme in Disney’s rendition of Alice in Wonderland from 1951, this sampler blanket pays tribute to many of the amazing and colorful characters of the original classic.

The characters represented are:
Alice
White Rabbit
Cheshire Cat
Queen of Hearts
Mad Hatter
Caterpillar
Pansies
Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum

This blanket was made with worsted weight cotton and a G hook. Color options are also included for the Tim Burton version.

Christmas Around the World CAL 2019

Hey everybody, did you know that I have another Christmas blanket CAL starting...right about now??? It's called Christmas Around the World, and it focuses on Christmas symbols that are common throughout many different countries. It's amazing how many things are used in Christmas celebrations throughout the world that cross borders and unite us all.

From October 2 to November 20, you can join in on the Second Annual Christmas Blanket CAL with me and my awesome gang of helpers: Theresa, Niamh, and Wini.

This CAL you will be able to join us via email, on Ravelry, or in the Facebook CAL Group. It is completely free until November 20th. As usual, there will be support videos throughout the CAL for those that need them!

We have four different colorways to inspire you. The original by Biz is a Boho Comfy Well-Traveled color scheme. Then we have Theresa's jewel-toned creation, Niamh's Traditional colorway honoring the love and memory of her Gran, and Vannessa's Dr Seuss/Grinch inspired colorway.

Niamh's Traditional Colorway

Vannessa's Dr Seuss/Grinch Inspiration Colorway

I hope you choose to join us! There will be lots of fun in the Facebook Group:
Giveaways, an International Christmas Sock Exchange (goody swap), Additional Patterns, and just some general Christmas themed silliness.

One of the additional patterns will be the Around the World accent pillow pattern:

Kiss the Girl: Little Mermaid Inspiration Sampler Blanket Pattern

Kiss the Girl:

Little Mermaid Inspiration Sampler Blanket Pattern

by Elizabeth Mareno

Kiss the Girl was designed as part of the Mermaid CAL that I hosted in April-May of 2018. This design was one of two. The other is called Under the Sea. Both designs feature characters and colors inspired by Disney's Little Mermaid movie from 1989.

Little Mermaid is one of my favorite movies of all-time because the year that it came out on video I worked for a VHS video rental store and I watched this movie every time I worked. I knew every line by heart. Not just the songs- the WHOLE movie! Haha. So, when I was thinking about what I would want to create an inspiration blanket for, Little Mermaid was a no-brainer.

Kiss the Girl is lacy styled blanket. It is as lovely as a baby blanket as it is for a best friend. The characters represented by various stitches throughout the blanket are:
Ariel
Flounder
Sebastian- using the Calypso Crab stitch which I created just for this blanket
Ariel's Sisters
Flotsam & Jetsam
Ursula
King Triton

I believe this blanket is an awesome chance to challenge yourself as a crochet artist. I have created, and freely supplied, videos on YouTube to help you through the pattern from beginning to end.

Here is a link to the free Calypso Crab Granny Square pattern on my blog if you would like to play with the pattern a little more!

This pattern is available on ETSY and my Website.

Here is a list of supplies/materials in three different yarns. You may already have enough in your stash! If not, I've given you links to each of the yarns that were used to create the samples.
